Methods for Optimization of Rotational Latency of the Inverse Loading of Trucks on International Routes
This paper examines the issue of increasing the efficiency of international motor vehicle transportation of cargo. Focus is on the waiting time involved in the return loading of a vehicle and establishing a criterion of efficiency (also referred to as “specific profit”). A technique for defining the optimum waiting time of return loading is presented. An example is given of applying this proposed technique to transportation between Belarus and the Russian Federation. The optimum waiting time of return loading is determined, and this figure then will correspond to a specific profit based on the amount of time, tonnage, and carrying capacity of the vehicle.
