AUTOMOBILE HEADLAMP FOR ANTI-GLARE LIGHT WITH Z-SHAPED BRIGHT/DARK BOUNDARY (TUNGSRAM Z-HEADLAMP BULB)
AUTOSCHEINWERFERLAMPE FUER ABBLENLICHT MIT Z-FOERMIGER HELL-DUNKEL-GRENZE TUNGSRAM Z-AUTOLAMPE)
The rule No. 20 of the UN European Economic Commission also permits the use of the so-called Z-shaped bright/dark boundary in H4 headlights. The asymmetrical anti-glare light with a 15 degree angle of inclination of the bright-dark boundary does not entirely correspond to the requirements of the traffic on modern highways. The light with a Z-shaped bright/dark boundary has many advantages. The design principles of a headlamp bulb which produces a Z-shape bright/dark boundary in a rotation paraboloid headlamp reflector, without the use of a headlamp lens with a prismatic system, are presented. The prismatic headlamp lens is necessary only for small final correction of "rough" light distribution.
