THE PROBLEM OF RELIABILITY OF A SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC COMPUTATION OF COORDINATES
The system for the automatic computation of coordinates (SACC) is an important factor in the complex automation of of ships. It is designed to relieve the navigator of arduous plotting and calculations and to enable him to determine the most probable coordinates of the ships position in minimum time and to assess their accuracy. In the designing of a system of this kind its accuracy and reliability are crucial and are interrelated as well. Hence, the investigation deals with establishing a mathematical relationship between the accuracy and reliability of SACC. (Author)
