All Pumped Up
Fleet managers face significant challenges in choosing vehicles that meet federal requirements for alternative fuels and that still offer cost-efficiency and long-term reliability. This article discusses this challenge, and describes how some local and state government agencies are finding creative solutions. Flex-fuel vehicles that run on gasoline or a gasoline/ethanol fuel blend, hybrid cars and buses, and compressed natural gas vehicles are popular choices.
