COMPUTER-AIDED MATERIALS SELECTION FOR NAVAL SHIPBUILDING
Advanced design of hulls, machinery, and auxiliary equipment require more knowledge about materials than is readily available to most designers. Modern computer technology offers an opportunity to overcome such problems. A system of logic for a computerized system for material selection has been developed with the necessary systems analysis for the programming of the logic. The system of logic is expanded into a demonstration program for a terminal-oriented computer system, and typical examples of expected usage are given to show the capabilities of the system.
