Consultants: For All Seasons

This article gives a general outline of the business of a few airline transport consultancy firms. One of the first such firms was created in 1949 post-WWII in the Netherlands and has aided over 500 different operators over its history. Such services can include recommendations on design, planning, engineering, construction expertise, and management organization. One of the firms described in the article employs only 9,500 staff members with about 500 million British pounds of business annually. The last consultancy firm described focuses on management in transportation with major contracts in the United States, Australia, and Hungary. In Budapest the goal is clear, to convert the former government-run facility into the most successful airport in Central Europe. This consultancy firm gained $58.6 million from its interests in Australia alone in the 2005-2006 fiscal year.
