Ultra green
Instarmac Group plc has developed a product portfolio to assist UK local authorities and councils to meet their road maintenance and environmental responsibilities, whilst achieving cost efficiencies. The company's new Ultracrete Envirobed HA104 is a new high-strength, rapid-setting cement based mortar that will change the way ironwork covers and frames are installed. Envirobed conforms to the Highways Agency Specification for Roads and Bridges: HA104/02. The product is believed to be the only cement-based bedding material that can develop the required compressive and tensile strengths within the specified three-hour limit. The material can be used in wet weather. The product is less hazardous than the traditional polyester resin based materials and there are no problems with the disposal of used packaging. Lancashire County Council has carried out extended trials with Envirobed HA104 over five months, with initial results being very favourable.
