Traffic diversion scheme during construction of Delhi metro at Connaught Place area New Delhi - a case study
A study was undertaken to workout a traffic diversion scheme as part of a traffic management plan at Connaught Place area keeping in view the closure of the radial road 4 during the construction of the North South corridor of Metro System.After having conducted a detailed reconnaissance survey coupled with a collection of primary data,nature ad magnitude of traffic flow in the one-way pattern of Connaught Place road network wsa assessed.In order to prepare a feasible traffic diversion plan in contest of closure of radial road 4,five alternative proposals were worked out and evaluated after simulating the traffic on road network.Finally alternative proposal-I proved to be feasible and implementable as compared to the other alternative proposals.
