New Grout System for Cable Stayed Bridges
This paper presents a non-grouted cable system for the construction of Cable Stayed bridges. The system has been used in Europe and it is now beginning to be used in the United Sates. The new system is easier to construct and allows the owner better access to the steel strands inside the stays. Therefore the inspection and condition assessment of the cables will be easier and faster. This system eliminates all concerns about grout cracks, and water bleed during construction. This paper will describe one of the latest Cable Stayed bridges in the United States where this new system is being used.
