LOW PRESSURE TURBINE TEST FACILITY
A low-pressure turbine test facility, placed on stream by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. in the spring of 1975, is briefly described here. The facility was designed to accurately measure; (1) turbine and stage efficiences; (2) stream flow pattern through stages and exhaust hood; (3) blade vibratory stresses, clamping and exciting forces; and (4) motion of water droplets in turbine. Tests results obtained can be used to significantly improve the performance and reliability of low-pressure turbine long blades.
