Systems and solutions for concrete car park structures

Sika Ltd. has developed systems and solutions for concrete multi-storey car parks (MSCPs). Decking systems must provide water resisting, abrasion- and slip-resistant surfaces that prevent water and de-icing salt penetration. Construction joints must be designed for movement. Sika Trocal roofing systems are generally based on flexible PVC single-ply roof waterproofing membranes. Concrete additives include Sika ViscoCrete superplasticiser, Sika 1 Watertight and Sika FerroGard-901. Sika concrete repair systems include the Sikadur epoxy injection and bonding systems and the Sika Monotop systems. Joint sealant systems include SikaFlex Pro 3WF and SikaFlex Pro 2HP. Sika anti-carbonation coatings include SikaDur synthetic resin adhesives, Sika Carbodur carbon-fibre reinforced polymer strips for external structural strengthening and SikaWrap carbon, aramid and glass fibre structural fabrics for external structural strengthening are available. A case study is presented of the installation of Sikafloor decking systems at the St Andrews car park in Norwich, UK.
