AP-T46/06 : Asset Management of Unsealed Roads: Literature Review, LGA Survey and Workshop (2000 – 2002)

Unsealed roads are the largest single component of the Australian road network, in terms of lane kilometres. The purpose of this document is to record the results of an Austroads project on the management of unsealed roads. The main activities in the Project were: ARRB conducted a literature review in 2000; LBD&A conducted a survey of LGAs in August 2000 on asset management practices for unsealed roads; and Austroads conducted a one-day workshop in Brisbane on 22 February 2002 on Asset Management Tools for Unsealed Roads. Austroads decided to truncate the Project in late 2002 when QDMR advised a commitment to resource significant work on asset management of unsealed roads in conjunction with Local Government Councils throughout Queensland, commencing in 2002/03.
