The future of Transit New Zealand roadmarking specifications

The Engineering Policy Section (EPS) is the repository of considerable technical expertise to enable leadership in research for the development or revision of standards, guidelines and specifications to meet safety, sustainability, economic, social and environmental objectives. Projects identified by EPS for implementation in the near future, to improve safety and help prevent road run-off crashes, include: Investigating the use of higher visibility road marking systems for use on asphalt surfaces in wet conditions; Development of a specification for profiled line markings; Roadmarking on-road testing and monitoring; On-going administration of specifications for Roadmarking applicators and Approved roadmarking products (paint, long-life products and raised pavement markers).
