Improvements in Situational Awareness for Military Fast Jet Pilots: Organisational and Industrial Framework
This paper investigates the particularities that the military aviator faces when it comes to acquiring and maintaining situational awareness in his fast jet as fighter or fighter-bomber pilot. The main components of situational awareness are presented and their corresponding properties explained. There are significant challenges and opportunities for the industry and the organization to enhance situational awareness skills to provide the necessary framework for a safer conduct of flight and for a more successful accomplishment of the mission or task.
