LANE IDENTIFICATION IN OMEGA
Difficulties in the prediction of the time of transmission of the difference frequency, in the Omega aid to navigation, can be relieved through a treatment based upon the theory of composite signals. It is shown that predictions for one of the carrier frequencies can be converted into predictions for the other carrier frequency, or the difference frequency, or any of a number of composite signals. A simple nomogram is presented that makes it easy to convert Sky Wave Compensation numbers published by the U.S. Navy for any of these purposes.
