Cable Net Structures in Mid-Twentieth Century Architecture

This paper examines the use of cable net structures in architecture. The time period of most of these buildings were in the 1950’s through the 1970’s. The paper explains how this structure found its way into architectural design, the major achievement accomplished using this structure, and finally discusses why cable nets are rarely used today.
