Improve heavy vehicle safety through performance testing
This paper investigates the performance testing of heavy vehicles used in the mining industry. Performance assessment provides the necessary information for operators to profile the risk of their fleet or specific, 'problem vehicles, to understand and rank vehicle performance, assess haul road suitability, driver training and operation procedures. The information and understanding resulting from a performance assessment offers a competitive advantage through proof of efficiency gains and a safer operation. (a)
