Value-Added Parking Services - Finnish Style!

This article profiles a value-added parking operation in downtown Helsinki, Finland. The 1,100-space underground facility offers numerous amenities at no cost to the customer. A number of free services are described, such as: window washers, breathalyzers, battery chargers, tire pressure and washer fluid, children’s amenities, shoe shine machines, recycling centers, radio antennas, shopping carts, newspapers, vision tests, preferential parking for veterans, and road safety awareness displays. The article notes that while the facility cannot offer free parking, it makes other products as attractive as possible, all of which have led to a satisfied and loyal customer base.
