Passenger Rail Planner's Guide 2006

The Passenger Rail Planner's Guide for 2006 presents an analysis of the state of the rail passenger and rail transit industries in North America. It relates that U.S. light rail ridership , commuter rail, and heavy rail ridership statistics are up, ranging from 4.3% for heavy rail, to 8.8% for light rail. The guide includes a chart identifying FY 2007 funding for new starts projects. After a brief discussion of intercity passenger rail systems, the guide focuses on urban rail transit and regional/commuter rail systems. Included in the discussion are systems in Boston, Connecticut, the New York Metropolitan Area, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, St. Louis, Nashville,Memphis, Little Rock, New Orleans, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Denver, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Stockton, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle-Tacoma, Vancouver, B.C., Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
