From Argentina to Zaire -- Aviation Fuels Get You There Safely

This article highlights the impact and development the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has had on the buying, selling, testing and certifying of aviation fuels. The historical and current standards of aviation fuels for commercial aviation and jet fuel are briefly discussed. The issues of quality control and fuels of the future are also mentioned. The article also includes a brief synopsis of the aviation fuel technical and professional training ASTM provides.
