Power spectral density approximations of longitudinal road profiles
The power spectral density (PSD) representation of road profiles can be used both to assess the road roughness, and as an input to vehicle dynamics. The PSD is often approximated with a simple function, using only a few parameters. The present paper presents a literature survey of such PSD approximations, and tests four approximations on longitudinal road profile data from the entire Swedish state road network. (A)
