Discussion of "Elastic Solution for Tunneling-Induced Group Movements in Clays" by K. H. Park
In response to the paper "Elastic Solution for Tunneling-Induced Ground Movements in Clays" by K. H. Park (Dec. 2004, Vol. 4 No. 4 pp. 310-318), the authors highlight a concern to the method of estimating ground movements. They feel the use of analytical solutions for a more consistent framework may not hold when further empiricism or engineering judgment is introduced.
