1996 Vehicle 30% Offset Rear Crash Test Results
This paper presents data and photos from offset rear crash tests conducted on six 1996 vehicles. An impactor with a deformable aluminum honeycomb face was used for the crash tests. The crash tests were conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Test speed, crush dimensions and damage width data are included. Equations are given for calculating stiffness coefficients from the barrier test data.
