Design notes
This article concerns the need to de-clutter footways in town centres. It is suggested that traffic signals and street lighting could be placed on the one column. The cabling and electrical systems need to remain separate within the column, each housed in a locked compartment. Several styles of dual column are available. The removal of advertising boards and better maintenance of the footway also help to make it more accessible.
