Survey of Users Consciousness of LRV (Light Rail Vehicle) and Empirical Research Concerning Introduction of LRT Using IT
Regarding LRT (Light Rail transit) which has received attention as means to solve the global environment problems in urban transport, the situation with regard to conventional streetcars in Japan and those abroad were analyzed and the difference was clarified. Furthermore, Okayama City where streetcars are operated was picked out as an example of city which introduced some new vehicles (LRV: Light Rail Vehicle) aiming to realize the LRT. Questionnaire surveys were conducted for users of streetcar in Okayama to analyze real use conditions, convenience and satisfaction level, and results of the surveys were clarified. Especially, the satisfaction level was analyzed through quantification theory analysis, and surveys were conducted on the number of passengers and payment method of fare between the starting point and the terminal of a certain line, and real conditions of the surveys were analyzed.
