Mobility Applications for Vehicle Infrastructure Integration Report from the Exploratory Initiative

In 2004, the U.S. DOT reorganized the ITS program around nine major initiatives. The “Tier 1” initiatives are multi-year efforts in partnership with the private sector to dramatically improve safety, mobility, and productivity in U.S. transportation. The DOT also identified another six topics that merited further research as “exploratory” efforts before a decision could be made as to whether these topics also justified a major initiative. This paper reports on progress to date for one of those exploratory initiatives, on Mobility Applications for Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (M-VII).
