Large eddy fire simulation in transverse ventilation tunnels
Tunnels with transverse ventilation systems are found in city areas in Japan. Recently, numerous three-dimensional CFD simulations for tunnel fires have been conducted to understand the fire plume behaviors. However, few studies of fires in transverse ventilation tunnels, dealing with comparisons of full-scale experiment and simulation, have been conducted. Therefore, this study aims to compare the results of the experiments conducted in the Higashiyama Tunnel, which is managed by the Nagoya Highway Corporation, to verify the CFD cord accuracy and to investigate proper input parameters for the CFD simulation.
