Taxi and paratransit update (2001-2005)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on taxi, private hire car and paratransit transport. Topics covered include the role of the taxi as public transport, regulation of the taxi industry, taxi policy, the design of taxis, alternative fuels for taxis, taxi safety, driver behaviour, accessibility for the disabled, and various alternative forms of public transport. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2001 and 2005. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia, Europe and Developing Countries is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
