Helsinki car park uses moose to boost trade
This article describes the additional customer attractions introduced by a city centre underground car park in Helsinki, Finland. Some services promote car maintenance; others aim more to catch customers' interest, such as displays of vintage cars, children's rides and recorded birdsong accompanying information boards. Also displayed are the results of a car hitting a moose, to encourage drivers to use winter tyres and be alert on the road. Customised payment cards and cell phone coverage are offered among other customer incentives. The measures help to attract drivers to the city centre car parks rather than out-of-town shopping centres.
