EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE BRAKING PROCESS OF AUTOMOBILES
In this article, the authors offer the results of experiments studying the braking parameters of automobiles equipped with antilock brake system (ABS) and without ABS. Automobile deceleration values, the increase of deceleration time, and the time of braking on a dry asphalt -concrete surface are presented. The dependence of deceleration of automobiles equipped with ABS and without ABS upon the primary driving speed is discussed. The authors also discuss results of braking with and without ABS under winter conditions, such as on snow and ice, are also presented.
