The author uses a method that combines the advantages of the graphic visualization of tariff rates with the traditional presentation in tables for the needs of their analysis, modeling, and design. The method can be used in practice by railway operators in all stages of the pricing process, including operations, decision-making, and strategic management. The author discusses how these methods can assist operators in their development and application of railway freight tariffs. Practical problems include both the analysis of freight costs as well as determining their level, differentiation, structure, and model. The author concludes that this graphically-based method can overcome some of the difficulties connected with the analysis and modeling of tariffs.
