Solving Complex Traffic Management Problems
Software providers have developed several new or updated packages that can help consulting engineers, contractors and their clients better operate and manage highway projects. This article describes ten of these software programs, each of which features unique and innovative capabilities, such as three dimensional modeling, dynamic traffic simulation, integrated geographic information systems, and Internet-based collaboration. For most of the software programs described, an example is provided of one specific use or user that illustrates how the program can be used to solve traffic management or facility design problems.
