DOSSIER: OPERATION PALOMAR
This study was initiated in order to analyse the behaviour of road users during heavy summer traffic. In order to provide a statistical data base the authors have implemented a programme of interviewing drivers on the principal road network of the Rhone Valley: A7 Motorway-National Road A7, National Road 86. The study is presented in the form of a dossier whose different sections are entitled: (1) report on the survey; (2) survey by questionnaire; (3) road and motorway survey - attitude study; (4) enquiry into the usefulness of a sign showing bottleneck areas; (5) flow/rate of occupation curve; (6) comments on the origin of bottlenecks and solutions envisaged; (7) studies of the levels of service.
