General Specifications for Determining the Metrological Characteristics of Weighbridges for Moving Vehicles
This article describes a method of checking weighing machines (scales) that are used for weighing vehicles in motion, including automobiles, railroad wagons, and compound vehicles. Standards have been derived for methods of checking such weighing machines. The basic metrological characteristics of these weighbridges are in accordance with GOST, OIML; the accuracy classes related to the limit of the permissible errors in weighing these vehicles. In accordance with GOST, the limits to the permissible errors are dependent not only on the accuracy class, but also on the weighing range. In the international recommendations (OIML), there is no relationship between the limit to the permissible error and the weighing range. The authors conclude by calling for appropriate changes to be made to put the GOST standard into correlation with the international recommendations.
