The Relations Between Motives and Frequency of Telework: A Qualitative Study from the Oslo Region on Telework and Transport Effects
This paper presents results of a qualitative study on the motives behind the decision to telework/telecommute. The study's hypothesis is that the variations of the motives usually have different impacts on the frequency on telework and as such on travel behavior and transportation. The study focused on the following questions: What are the motives for teleworking? Which conditions are they related to? How do teleworkers organize their work at home, and what is the relation between the motives and how often do they telecommute? How does teleworking impact the travel patterns of the teleworker?
