STUDY OF THE PLASTIC FLOW SURFACE OF CERTAIN MATERIALS - APPLICATION TO SOIL MECHANICS
ETUDE DE LA SURFACE D'ECOULEMENT PLASTIQUE DE CERTAINS MATERIAUX-APPLICATION A LA MECANIQUE DES SOLS
This thesis relates to the study of an equation for the flow surface which constitutes a better approximation of the real surface than others utilised up to the present time for soils (Mohr-Coulomb criterion essentially, but also criterion of the "intrinsic curve" type with whatever curve). After having presented the proposed rupture criterion, the properties of the flow surface thus introduced are studied; the classic flow law is adopted "associated" with the criterion and the resolution of the problems of plane deformation is examined. Finally the particular plane problem of shallow foundations is considered at some length. /TRRL/
