Marine Options, Greater Vancouver to Squamish: Feasibility Study
This report assesses the feasibility of a high speed ferry service between Squamish and Vancouver. It includes an analysis of travel demand and supply based demand issues; the characteristics of the ferry route and potential service interruptions and operating restrictions; the types of vessels available along with the advantages and drawbacks of each; ferry fleet size; characteristics and issues associated with the terminals at each end of the route; the regulatory environment; transportation linkages; service delivery; risks and opportunities associated with this venture; and operating and capital costs.
