A NEW AUTOMATIC EXTRACTION METHOD OF CONTAINER IDENTITY CODES
This paper details a novel method for the automatic extraction of cargo container identity codes from visual snapshots. It describes current methods for capturing and processing images of container codes and depicts their results. The paper discusses how these are unqualified to handle the task of deciphering millions of stained, aged, cargo container codes from around the world. The authors approach uses new filtering techniques and an adaptive neural network to teach a computer to read processed snapshots for container codes. Crossover technology areas include drivers license plates.
