INNOVATIONS AT WORK: ROUTING SOFTWARE

RouteMatch and @Road are two software packages that were designed using public transit property in the process. RouteMatch particular metrics were designed specifically to identify and quantify efficiencies, and the gains achieved have been impressive: the time required for daily scheduling of client trips is reduced from 16 to 20 man-hours per day to 4 to 6 man-hours per day; and the total driver hours required to perform all scheduled trips were reduced by 12% per week. And @Road provides management solutions based on its LocationSmartSM platform that seamlessly integrates wireless communications, Global Positioning System technology, hosted software applications, transaction processing and Internet technologies. Kiessling Transit, Inc., a 34-year old company that contracts with transit authorities, feels that @Road is responsible for enhancing the company's reputation of offering quality, reliable service.
