MINIMIZING INCONSISTENCIES IN AIRPORT COMMON-USE CHECKING COUNTER ASSIGNMENTS WITH A VARIABLE NUMBER OF COUNTERS
The study developed a zero-one integer programming model to help airport authorities to solve the common-use check-in counter variable number of counters (CUCCAP-VCs). To efficiently solve the proposed model in the real world, a heuristic method was developed to decompose the original problem into two sub-problems, each with a smaller problem size that is easier to solve than the original problem.
