TRANSPORT TRADE UNIONS IN EUROPE CALLING ON EUROPEAN POLITICIANS AND EUROPE'S SOCIAL PARTNERS
Since the formation of the European Union it has become obvious, among many things, that the various regulatory acts relating to public transport can no longer be decided freely at the national level. The article looks at how the European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) has created a committee to deal specifically with the interests of public transport employees. Alongside the fundamental regulatory issue of the freedom of choice, other subjects vital to employee interests that ETF aims to protect are vocational training and the control of working time and safety and quality of work.
