MOTOR VEHICLE SIGNAL LAMPS IN A FOG ENVIRONMENT
This paper considers the necessary luminance levels required for brake lights and direction indicators in fog. Experiments were conducted using an artificial fog machine, rectangular brake lights, observers and an illuminance measuring instrument. It was found that signal lamps should be variable in the brightness to compensate for fog. For the covering abstract see ITRD E123380.
