NARVIK'S NEW ORE HANDLING FACILITIES
Impressive new facilities at this important Norwegian iron ore port are detailed. Stage 1 of the expansion project comprised the construction of larger warehouses, increased unloading capacity and possibilities for receiving larger vessels in the ore port. Ore sampling is carried out continuously while the ships are being loaded. The weighing system is also described, and the second stage of the project is outlined.
