IMPACT OF ROADS ON THE LANDSCAPE OF A SUBURBAN AREA
The aim of this paper is to present a methodological procedure that attributes importance to the protection of landscape values in physical planning, especially when the route of a road is being selected. The analysis of route alternatives brings out criteria that are the basis for evaluation of the solutions in order to determine the one with minimal impact on the landscape. The influence of roads on the landscape of a suburban area is detailed for the example of a road planned to link Dubovica cove to the settlement of Sv. Nedilja on the island of Hvar, Croatia.
