ECONOMIC ASPECTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE OPERATION OF ELECTRIC AUTOMOBILES. COMPARISON OF COSTS BETWEEN INTERNAL COMBUSTION AND ELECTRIC-MOTOR VARIANTS

WIRTSCHAFTLICHE ASPEKTE ZUM BETRIEB VON ELEKTRO-KRAFTFAHRZEUGEN. EIN KOSTENVERGLEICH ZWISCHEN VERBRENNUNGS- UND ELEKTROMOTOR-VARIANTE

An electric vehicle for the transportation of goods is compared with one incorporating an internal combustion engine from the viewpoint of costs and development state. An attempt is made to establish the possible reduction in cost of the electric vehicle and of its supply. The result of this cost investigation shows that the electric vehicle, when the research and development stage is completed and mass production is commenced, will be as efficient and of equal quality as the vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine and as economical in operation. Other advantages of the electric automobile are discussed.
