EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR THE HIGHWAY ENGINEER
In recent years a number of changes have come about in the context of the work of the highway engineer. To take full advantage of the opportunities presented by these changes, the engineer must not only be knowledgeable as regards engineering techniques, but he must also understand problems of management, communication and the social sciences. This paper explores the implication of change for the education and training of the highway engineer, and concludes that a longer period of formal study will become necessary. /Author/TRRL/
