EFFECTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM OF FROZEN ROAD SURFACE
Mainly in colder areas, internet homepages are utilized in order to provide road surface information to citizens. However, this kind of homepage describes snowfall information, and is considered to be insufficient in providing information of frozen road surface. This paper proposes an information system of frozen road surface. In this system, each taxi senses several frozen points and these information are collected in a single Web database. Then, from this database, information of frozen road surface is provided to citizens. The system described in the paper reduces the discreteness of information in conventional systems and is suitable for providing information of frozen road surface, which terribly varies place to place. Another advantage of our system is to provide their information as confirmed one and to cover the less accuracy in conventional systems. In ITS development areas, our approach contributes to "support of secure driving" and "efficient management of road."
