PREDICTION OF FATIGUE LIFE OF CONCRETE PAVEMENT
An analytical approach based on J. Bailey's hypothesis is presented for predicting fatigue life of plain cement concrete under flexural cyclic loading as prevalent in concrete pavements. The loading and unloading cycle was assumed to be symmetrical and of serrated form. The analysis was made for three strength levels of concrete and the material parameters assumed therein were computed from short-term, standard, static tests under constant rate of loading. The formula so developed may be used for prediction of fatigue life of concrete pavements for different frequency levels of traffic.
