INTEGRATION OF AN ADVANCED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH PASSER IV IN CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA
This paper describes the Optima 1.5 generation tool developed to generate NTCIP-based timing patterns for the StreetWise advanced traffic management system. Optima is based on an earlier system deployed in Richardson, Texas. The paper also provides a brief overview of research being conducted to extend Optima/PASSER IV for providing real-time traffic-adaptive control.
