COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT PROGRAMS: WHICH ELEMENTS ARE THE MOST EFFECTIVE?

Public involvement has emerged in recent years as a key element in the field of transportation planning and engineering. This paper attempts to better define the actual nature of public involvement, and also focuses on successful elements of a public participation plan for an example project, providing insight on why those elements were successful.
